"Makerspace" Comes to Two Rivers!
Posted on 10/20/2017
MakerspaceTwo Rivers library has a new makerspace, where kids can sign up for various activities during lunch waves.  In keeping with our environmental theme, most of the items in the maker space were found in storage, donated or discarded and ready for upcycling.

The new items in the makerspace were purchased with some of last years scholastic book fair profits. They include: two makey makey kits; two stickbot animation kits, and one 3d doodler pen with accessories. There are also legos, knitting needles and yarn, and a button maker.

The school had a small 3d printer that was in storage and needed to be fixed. After Ms. Santos and two students tried all of the conventional ways to fix it and failed, the students asked to take it apart to see what was going on inside . After a few days of tinkering and collaboration, two things that makerspace fosters, our once broken machine is working again!

The makerspace will expand its hours and offerings as the year goes on. Be sure to check out all of the great things it has to offer!
